Abstract Submission
 
ABSTRACTS CAN BE SUBMITTED ONLY ONLINE ON THE ESCID WEBSITE.
ABSTRACTS THAT ARE SENT BY MAIL, FAX OR E-MAIL WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS
1.)Please indicate the personal data (full address, phone, fax and e-mail address) of presenting author
2.) Please indicate the type of presentation (oral or poster) and the topic allocation
3.) Abstracts must be written in English (other languages will not be accepted for reviewing process)
4.)The abstract text shall not exceed 2500 indications
(max. 300 words)
, excluding abstract title and authors
5.)Only one institution per author per paper is allowed
6.)Give the initials of the first name preceding the last name of the author, but omit degrees, titles or institutional appointments f.e. E.Smith, R.Kline, B.Webber etc.
7.) The person presenting the paper should have his/her name listed first
8.) The institution shall be indicated as follows:
"Hospital or University, Department", "City, Country"
9.) Insertion of one table is allowed
10.) No graphics may be inserted
11.) Abstracts will be reproduced exactly as submitted. An abstract may be rejected for publication if it contains errors or misspellings.
 
Please arrange the text in the order of:
•  Purpose: Give a brief overview of the topic and in this context state the main objective of the study
•   Materials and Methods: Describe the basic design, subjects and scientific methods
•   Results: Give main results of the study including confidence intervals and exact level of statistical significance, whenever appropriate
•  Conclusion: State only those conclusions supported by the data obtained and whenever appropriate, the direct clinical application of the findings (avoid speculation)
 
Information for Authors
Special attention will be paid to the abstract reviewing process in order to ensure high scientific standards. Abstracts will be examined by the Scientific Committee responding to the conditions listed below. The Scientific Committee will attempt to respect the author's wishes regarding assignment to a special topic and type of presentation but it reserves the right to change the allocation in order to achieve a well-balanced scientific programme.
Authors will be informed about the decision of the Scientific Committee by November, 2010.
 
Conditions of Acceptance
•  Only original material should be submitted
•   Abstracts should contain enough details to clearly convey the approach and the results of the research
•   Commercial papers, descriptions of papers with no research/development content and papers where supporting data or a technical description cannot be given for proprietary reasons will not be accepted for presentation in the scientific sessions
