Our mission
ESCID is a non-profit organization endorsing research in celiac disease and immune-mediated small intestinal diseases across Europe.
To this end, ESCID supports research groups in their networking efforts, organizes meetings and courses on celiac disease and small intestinal diseases, and helps advance research to reduce the burden of the disease.

Cultivate a multidisciplinary community dedicated to the study and treatment of immune-mediated small intestinal diseases.

Accelerate scientific exchange among European researchers to advance the understanding of Celiac Disease and related intestinal pathologies.

Standardize clinical excellence by developing and publishing evidence-based Guidelines and Position Papers.

Advocate for the small intestinal research community through strategic representation within United European Gastroenterology (UEG).
We started off 2010 as European Society for the Study of Coeliac Disease (ESsCD). However, we felt that it would be beneficial to the field of enteropathies, if we expand our interests to those diseases we frequently encounter in our clinics, namely immune-mediated enteropathies.
